This book is a great representation of what the battle for segregation was like. Even if rules were changed, there was still rampant racism. This book also gives hope to mankind that not everyone is like that and it gives us an example for what we should do. This is great for a history class to talk about the fight against segregation. Even though the reading level might be from 1st-3rd grade, this book can incorporated to any grade.
